Behind The Artworks: Grimskull - Awake Asleep (2022)

Since our actual music is very traditional, we wanted both an expression that stood out among all the other hundreds of metal bands that are releasing music every day. It's important to us to be unique. We wanted something that matched the title of the album, something kind of creepy and iconic. And we ended up with something that was very simple, kind of nasty yet effective, kind of like an old Scorpions or Black Sabbath album cover. It's still traditional, but not in the typical "muscle man with sword on a mountain" kind of way. I know a lot people like that, we do too. But it just doesn't fit our music or our lyrical themes.
