Interviews: El Altar Del Holocausto

On this new occasion, we have had the fantastic opportunity to interview the Instrumental Post-Rock bands  El Altar Del Holocausto from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it, or came out just like that?

The name is taken from a biblical quote: Exodus 27.

We think it's a catchy name and makes you not forget about it from the first time you hear it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We have always believed that nothing more than music is needed to convey our feelings. Although in some songs small parts with voice may appear, it is not an element that we consider necessary. Our style is open to many influences, and we feel very comfortable performing our songs the way we do.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Reverb, Reaper, and Skybite knew each other from our hometown, but we hadn't made music together until we formed EADH, then we met Weasel and he joined the ranks of the band definitively in 2019.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

It is impossible for us to answer this question in a concrete way, each one of us has had many different influences.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our main inspiration is to make music that evokes certain feelings in the person who receives it. We always say that you have to stop to listen to the compositions and feel at each moment each one of the reactions that they can provoke: Joy, sadness, relaxation...

6. Where was your last gig?

Last October 1st we performed in San Sebastián, in Doka. We had a great night and so many good memories. We dedicated this October entirely to prepare the release of our new EP: “De Euforia y Nostalgia” which came out on October 21 st. We invite you to check it out on all digital platforms.

7. Where would you like to act?

Wacken or Hellfest, are two of the places where we would like to go to enjoy the atmosphere created there and also be part of two of the most important festivals in the world.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We are open to any collaboration of any musical genre. We really like flamenco, HipHop, and current music, any collaboration is always welcome.

9. Whom not?

We are open to all possible proposals.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I think this could happen in some shows, but we take our time to relax and calm down before going on stage. It’s about feeling comfortable on stage and enjoying the moment.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We have been lucky enough to share the stage with MONO, with GIAA, bands that are world leaders in our genre. That was an unparalleled experience.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We are always very aware of our fans and their requests through our social media. The truth is that they are always very respectful and treat us with great affection and always with good words. I do not recall any unusual or extraordinary requests right now.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Without a doubt, we believe that the fans are the basis of everything. People contact us every day saying that our music influences them, helps them in difficult moments, sometimes to get out of complicated situations… This is amazing.

After the very complicated situation that we have all experienced since 2020, this situation increased. It's clear that without these people, concerts, or selling merch, the band would not make sense.

14. What do you think of our site?

We are delighted to be able to do this interview and introduce ourselves to your public. Thank you for giving us the opportunity and we hope to be on again soon.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for your time. We’d like to invite everyone to listen to our music, our new EP: "De Euforia y Nostalgia" on all platforms. Thank you to everyone that supports culture, concerts, buying records, and books; that are the most important things we have.

A powerful hug from all the members of EADH
