Track By Tracks: Whore Of Bethlehem - Ritual Of Homicide (2023)

1. Enlightenment Through Pain:

You'll find a common theme in our songs with the topic of misanthrope. This song describes an eventual death and hell that comes to those we detest, This takes you through death and a path of torture, mutilation, and pain. "Gaze into nothing as you slip into eternal darkness."

2. Nails in Your Coffin:

"Nails" was written for our truest enemy, and goes out to the real elusive backstabbers. This song highlights the darkest thoughts that run through your mind when you think of what you'd do when you eventually get your hands on that person. "Each passing day is a nail in your coffin."

3. Ritual of Homicide:

This song is pure brutality. "Ritual" is about inviting someone into a slaughterhouse where they're killed, gutted, hung by their feet, and pummeled with a sledgehammer. This one is the slow banger on the album with some old school influence!

4. Vermin:

This is the track we decided to use for our single when we announced our partnership with Comatose Music for the release of our third album, "Ritual of Homicide." This song starts off ripping and doesn't let up. "Vermin" is followed by our song "Sermon of the Malignant Spirit," and they tie together lyrically. Vermin is about those who blindly follow. Regardless of religion, they pledge their lives to a god built on tall tales. Each religion is holier and more deserving than the next. deceived without question, a life pledged to a character in a book.. Religions are cults.

5. Gateway:

"Gateway" is an audio version of our cover art created by our guitarist Phil. It's an interlude that sets the tone perfectly and helps showcase exactly what we're going for. DARK EVIL BRUTALITY

6. Sermon of the Malignant Spirit:

"Sermon" is about the darker paths some can take to affirm their belief. In today's world, people generally talk the talk but don't walk the walk... This is about what would actually happen in that moment of death. a realization that instead of seeing this eternity of bliss you'd actually be punished and tortured for your indiscretions in life.

7. Out of Body:

When the body dies, the mind lives on. This song is about having a post-death out-of-body experience where you feel yourself decay. It touches on the thoughts that race through your mind as the brain slowly dies and the horror of seeing yourself be picked apart by vultures.

8. Disembodied:

"Disembodied" is about being drawn and quartered. Tortured by being ripped apart by four horses tearing your body in all directions. Sometimes you gotta return to your death metal roots and just sing about good ol' torture and mutilation!

9. Monolith of Cremation:

This song talks about the medieval torture device known as the brazen bull. Victims are put in the belly of a bronze bull statue and roasted to death over a fire. The screams of the contents projected through the mouth of the bull to create a song of wailing torture, "The song singing in my ears, your screams of pain as you die."

10. Pseudochrist:

We tracked this song to self-release, promote ourselves and eventually find a label. It was recorded separately and shortly after the album was tracked. We used a piece of liner art from the Ritual of Homicide album to help promote this song as it fit perfectly and Jon Zig knocked it out of the park as usual. There was no physical release for this song, so we decided to include it with the album as a bonus track. "Reach deep into your vacant heart and behold your majesty." praise your PSEUDOCHRIST!
