Interviews About Albums: Lomor - Perseverance Of Sickness (2022)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Reunion Thrash Metal band Lomor to ask some questions about their latest album "Perseverance Of Sickness"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Eric: Well this is our first album. From the start, we decided to try to make a “real” production for this one to catch attention the more we can. So we contacted Sébastien Camhi from ArtMusic Studio in France in early 2021 and he accepted the project. The sound he produced is awesome and very in step with our songs. We are very happy to have been able to work with him for this release!

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Eric: The name is quite personal for me… it is a reference to beloved people who passed away because of the same disease (and I don’t mean COVID-19 here). Diseases are unfair and can strike your family one by one. Diseases can be perseverant…

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Eric: Typhvs (drummer) and I start composing on the first day of Lomor in late 2019. Micha (bass) joined us when the majority of songs were quite finished… hum it was in early 2020. So, yeah we were 2 composers for this album. These days we currently are starting to compose new songs at 3. It’s quite new for us in fact … ha ha ha

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Eric: … I would choose “Brother In Black”… this song is dedicated to my brother who was struck down by cancer. Diseases and sickness are perseverant. Did I mention that?

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Eric: Well, I don’t think so… We are simply doing music. We can express our feelings, our stories or our torments of course. But we are not necessarily searching to spread a word or a message. These days everyone gives their opinion, their idea, their anger or nastiness everywhere and at all times thanks to social networks you know. We just want to have fun with music and make people happy in the pit. That’s it!

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Eric: I would suggest the lyrics of Certificate of Authority. It’s about the story of a priest who killed a woman he got pregnant with and his unborn child in 1956 in France. Grrrr…. This is a true story that challenged me…

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Eric: I’m personally a big fan of old stuff from Slayer, Metallica, Testament, and other big thrash names. Musically, that was mainly my inspiration. But the universe of the other members has brought other aspects which created Lomor. I want to thank all of you guys and girls who have supported us since 2020, during shows, on social networks, or with your encouraging feedback. You have given us the energy to make this album!

8. Something to add?

Eric: We are looking forward to seeing you at our future concerts in France or elsewhere maybe… we are working on that too for 2023! And a big thanks to Breathing The Core for this interview.
