Interviews: Mortal Blood

In this interview, we have the honor of speaking with the members of Mortal Blood, an American band that combines Heavy Metal, Doom Metal, and Epic Heavy Metal to create a unique and unforgettable sound. With their impressive musicianship and intense live performances, Mortal Blood is a band you don't want to miss. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for updates on their latest releases and shows.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I found that coming up with a good band name was difficult. Mortal Blood wasn’t the first choice. All the names I considered before Mortal Blood were already in use. I think the name Mortal Blood came to me because I like gothic horror.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I’ve always enjoyed heavy music, as well as classical music. Gothic doom metal just seems to be the result when I record music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Mortal Blood is a solo project, so I would say “yes” to that question.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

I have a bunch of “go-to” bands, a few of the many include: Candlemass, Paradise Lost, Black Sabbath, Hammerfall, Dark Tranquility, etc.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Musically, the inspiration comes from my mood. Lyrics are a different story. Sometimes it’s difficult to capture the mood of the song in the lyrics.

6. Where was your last gig?

Mortal Blood doesn’t tour, so there are no gigs.

7. Where would you like to act?

Not sure what the question is, but I’m not looking to be an actor.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Currently, I am content with creating music on my own. But maybe in the future, there’ll be an opportunity to collaborate.

9. Whom not?

I don’t know.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, that’s why I don’t tour.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Believe it or not, Kiss was an inspiration early on. They’re still rocking after fifty years.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don’t have an answer to that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

My fans are intelligent music connoisseurs. They are all terrific!

14. What do you think of our site?

There’s an abundance of information! Besides new releases, there are constant updates on what’s happening. So definitely bookmarked!

15. Something to add?

Thank you \m/
