Interviews: Soul Sign

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock band, Soul Sign from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In the search for a name I (we) thought it sounded good and had a mysterious meaning.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We were all big fans of this music growing up and naturally all became pros in the genre. We don't plan what we write or play. We are very organic and don't follow a "cookie cutter" formula like many others.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, the band was formed with a different line-up although this line-up has been together since 2012. We all met through music or this band somehow, but we all made sure we got along well as friends before we decided to be in this band together. We have great chemistry both musically and personally, and I think it's the first band I have ever been in where everyone gets along great and has great respect for one another.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Mike: Ozzy Osbourne

Bjorn: Led Zeppelin

Rob: Van Halen

Mark: Ring Of Fire

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Just life in general. Or dreams and inspirations. It's never forced and we let the ideas come naturally.

6. Where was your last gig?

At The Transplants Brewing Company in Palmdale, California. A great venue!

7. Where would you like to act?

Worldwide! One of the few big European festivals I personally have never performed at is Sweden Rock, so that would be nice.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think we would fit great with bands like Queensryche, Hammerfall, The Winery Dogs, Kings X.

9. Whom not?

Any band or artist that has an audience that is not particularly into our genre of music. Otherwise, we are open-minded.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Oh, yes! Although much less these days.

The secret is proper preparation. If you know the songs extremely well and you are in tune with all your gear and the stage I would say 95% of the stage fright will most likely be gone. You have to just do your best and not worry about what people think. Have fun and relax.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Personally MANY, but growing up I would say the most inspirational were Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Dio, Gary Moore, Europe, Talisman, Mr Big, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Kings X, Ozzy Osbourne, Queensryche. Hey, I'm most likely forgetting a few...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Oh… Free tickets when we don’t know them… lol

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are wonderful and the main reason we do this!

14. What do you think of our site?

I love it!

15. Something to add?

Check out our new album coming this year. You will love it!
