Haunt - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post Hardcore band Haunt  from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE.  We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band. 

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We previously performed under a different name. The word “Haunt” was on a scrap of paper I kept around. When the decision was made to change the bands name, this word came to mind and was quickly chosen when presented to the rest of group. The Haunt moniker fairly represents a number of elements found within our music and lyrics.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This genre allows for a fair amount of experimentation and sonic building.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We’ve all been in the Baltimore local scene for quite a while, moving in and out of bands. This lineup was recently solidified, but we’ve all had a great time thus far.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Brandon – Deftones

Kish – As Cities Burn

Zach – The Reign Of Kindo

Kelly – Evaline

Ian – Misery Signals

Jerrit – Circa Survive

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pain, both physical and emotional. Depression and anxiety. The hardships we’ve all faced, and the creative elements we share that tend to reveal themselves through the songwriting process.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at Charm City Art Space with a few friends.

7. Where would you like to act?

Europe, Australia, the West Coast, Japan, and South America. Japan would be a dream.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Our list is endless. Deafheaven seems to be a band that often comes up in our conversations.

9. Whom not?

It’s not that hard to be a decent human being. We just want to play with good people who are good to others, and avoid those who aren’t.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

A few of us have had pre-show nerves, but generally move past that once the set begins.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

All post-hardcore pioneers.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No one has asked Haunt for anything, really. Signatures are always a little awkward though. We’re just happy to be playing.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We greatly appreciate anyone interested in our songs and are thankful for those who come out and sing along at shows.

14. What do you think of our site?

We are grateful for the opportunity to share a few facts about ourselves with you and your visitors.

We start recording our full-length album, “The New Gospel” on May 19th.
