Unalaska - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Experimental Metalcore band Unalaska from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We all just wanted a band name that sounded like it fit. Originally, we had a goofy, long band name and then one that sounded way too nautical and trendy for us. One day our rhythm guitarist Bruce was looking at odd city names and found Unalaska, Alaska. It just stuck!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Everyone in the band shares a common fondness for the genre. Nevertheless, we combine many genres into our music. As stereotypical as it is to say this, none of our songs will sound the same!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah! We've all been friends for a long time.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

 We all have distinctly different favorite bands. But they are Kings of Leon, Trivium, The 1975, The Devil Wears Prada, and Panic! At The Disco.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We're all inspired by the music that we listen to. We all love film as well, so movies play a big part of our songwriting. There's a song that we're working on at the moment that is one big, lyrical story. Definitely film-inspired.

6. Where was your last gig?

We've yet to play a show. So, our practice space!

7. Where would you like to act?

Our dream show would be at a small, lame place in our hometown called Skateland West. We grew up watching bands like I See Stars and We Came As Romans starting off there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be sick to have Landon Tewers from The Plot In You on one of our songs! *winks*

9. Whom not?

Any country musicians I guess. That's a genre that we all can collectively avoid.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?  Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We're all actually pretty used to being on stage, in front of people. From things we did in high school (band, theatre, etc) it's pretty second nature to us!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Again, all of our answers are quite different. Nevertheless, Killswitch Engage, Veil of Maya, Being As An Ocean, Chiodos and Underoath all inspire us a large amount.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

One of our fans asked us for some spare change and then spit on our shoe. Oh, wait. That might have been a homeless person.

13. What do you think of your fans?

At the moment, I'd say our "fans" are really just our friends. But we hope to get more and more fans/friends each and every day!

14. What do you think of our site?  

The site is sick!
