Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Deathcore band Stop, Drop & Burn from Canada, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It was actually just a name that randomly came up in conversation as a joke. We never really expected it to be our actual name, but it definitely grew on us and it seems to be a hit. People always ask if it has some deep meaning and its honestly just a silly ironic name that made us chuckle.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We were drawn to the passion and raw emotion of other musicians in heavy bands that we enjoyed and as guys that grew up listening to heavy music it was just natural for us to want to play heavier music. As Christians we know that our music reaches a different crowd than a preacher’s sermon would; that our message would be reaching peoples ears through a different avenue.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We didn’t really know each other that well before being in the band together; most of us met through our local music scene. We had been without a bassist for so long and had been in prayer about it for a while, and as God provided our drummer for a job, which he had been searching for, God brought us our current bass player, Cole, who Ky met through that job, which completed our lineup as a four-piece (Guitar, bass, drums, and vocals).

4. Each band member favourite band?

Cole (bass) LOVES KoЯn and Slipknot.

Ky (drums) is big into Fit For A King and For Today.

Donovan (guitar) is all about Northlane and Structures.

Drake (vocals) really digs Emmure and Reflections.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Each one of our members has a different ear for what they want out of the music, and having opinions from each end of the spectrum kind of builds a sound that’s more unique and more of an impact than just a single person’s inspiration. We all have a say in each other’s parts and we all help build each other’s sound to make an end product that has a lot of all of us in it. Bands like As I Lay Dying and Gideon inspire us to write songs about hurt and struggle that people can relate to.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show we played was with Sky Monitor, Commencing Human Desperation, Lifeforms, Galactic Pegasus, and Black Tongue at The Park Theatre in Winnipeg, MB, which is among the rowdiest shows we’ve ever played.

7. Where would you like to act?

Really, we just love to play anywhere. Music is a passion for us and it doesn’t really matter to us who we’re playing for or where we are playing. As long as someone is there to hear what we have to say, we’ll be there to play for them.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Everyone in our band would love to share the stage with bands like For Today, Fit For A King, Phineas, and War of Ages because these are some of the bands that have paved the way for aspiring Christian bands like us.

9. Whom not?

There’s no one really that we would be closed minded about playing with. Every band that we share the stage with is another opportunity to build relationships and that is something that is very important to us.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

The more you think about “am I gonna mess up” the more room you give yourself for error. Each time you go on stage, think about why you’re playing this song. Think about what drove the passion for you to write this song and feed off of the crowd. Seeing someone appreciate your song as you’re playing it makes it 100 times easier to play through it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

One band that all of us are constantly driven back to is For Today. We all have huge respect for what they stand for and how they’ve prepared their music scene as a mission field.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We’ve never had any odd requests but it’s surreal to all of us when we are asked for an autograph because we’re not famous and to think that anybody looks up to us enough to ask for that is incredibly humbling.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We feel incredibly privileged to have anyone supporting us and appreciating what we do as a band. We really love talking to and connecting with everyone who comes to our shows and everyone who likes us on Facebook. It always feels special when you can connect with someone with something as simple as music and build a relationship on that.

14. What do you think of our site?

We like the site. It’s cool to have a single place to go to to discover new bands that we have not heard of that we wouldn’t find otherwise.

15. Something to add?

We just put out a new EP on July 25th entitled Face Down. http://stopdropandburn.bandcamp.com/album/face-down It’s available for free download, please check it out.
