Highest Falls - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Highest Falls from France, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were just searching for a name that sounded good, it came out like that and we all found it was a great picture/metaphor.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Simply because we all love metalcore music, even if we come from different musical horizons. It's a way to gather our influencies into a common musical genre. Also no band was playing this kind of metalcore in our local scene.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we were all good friends at the beginning! Some of us even were in previous bands together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Our drummer goes with Parkway Drive, a long time lover. His brother, our first guitarist, picks the same but adds As I Lay Dying and August Burns Red. Our bassist is currently quite in love with I The Breather stuff. Second guitarist picks August Burns Red and Periphery, I (the singer) share with him this crush on prog metal ! I'll go with Born Of Osiris, and more old, Slipknot and The Used.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Love of music, man, and will to play it ! Also all the bands we love.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in a small venue in our city, with two amazing metal bands, Messiah and Eudaimon.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere! Touring is a dream for us. If there is any promoter out there... WE WANT TO PLAY SHOWS! But yeah, there is already a cool venue in our city called Le Bikini, one of the best in Europe. To play in Paris would also kick ass. And of course, many countries such as Australia, Japan or America.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Some talentful musicians, we can say Matt Griener, or any other member from ABR. I would like to feature some heavy or emotionful vocalists I like, you know, Bozeman or Chino Moreno.

9. Whom not?

Fortunately we don't make enemies already!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Just take a huge dump !!! Seriously, everyone in the band has suffered from this. The best tip is to be confident, to get on stage and to know your songs, and play your fucking heart out. Try to have a well-planned organization for the show as well, it will avoid some bad surprises.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands we listed previously, for the main part. But we have inspirations from many other bands, really.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too weird yet ! There's always some pre-teen groupie on social medias, asking you to play in her city, but hey, you really think it's that easy !?

13. What do you think of your fans?

I don't know if we can say we have "fans" haha... We're far from being famous. But our friends and relatives are a great support, they come to our shows and get into the atmosphere, they are the best.

14. What do you think of our site?

Pretty cool from what we've seen ! Interesting topics and interviews from small bands, that's great !
