Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore band Menace 2 Society from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our guitarist Nate was really into the movie of the same name and the philosophy behind it. I have no idea why he and Nick went with a 2 instead of To or II but I (Brett) joined on bass after the demo was recorded.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all go to shows all over California and have all loved hardcore and the messages within it so playing hardcore was an easy choice. As for the sound, we all love the early 90s NYHC sound along with 90s metalcore and Troycore (Stigmata, Dying Breed, etc.) but somehow the demo sounds like Soul Search and Dmize or at least that what people say and I personally think that’s tight.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I (Brett) knew Nick (drums) for a bit from other friends and shows and had seen Nate (Guitar) and Hector (vocals) at shows a bunch but never knew them well. Nick hit me up to play bass after the demo was recorded and I met the other dudes then and since then we all hang out and make dumb jokes.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nick- he listens to a shit ton of Machine Head and Black Sabbath.

Nate – Rage Against The Machine, Grimlock.

Brett – Converge and Cat Power Hector- Biohazard or something   this is me guessing, we all have a weird taste in music. Nate and I love hip hop too and talk a lot about Yung Lean, Lil Ugly Mane and A$AP Mob.

Hector - listens to anything and also has a sick punk band called Outrage. Nick likes anything heavy and recently got into Suicidal Tendencies haha.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Nate and I just listen to stuff in the car on the way to practice or stop at Guitar Center and write stuff. We just try to write groovy and heavy riffs. We had/have some new songs that were recorded that’s more of a 90s metalcore feel but we’re going to rework them a bit.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was at The Dial in Murrietta, California with Axis and KDC (shoutout to SFLHC). It’s one of the coolest spots here aside from Programme Skate and Sound in Fullerton and is run by a long time friend Wayne who runs Toxicbreed’s Funhouse.

7. Where would you like to play?

A few of us are in school so playing slows down at times, Nate is studying Sociology and I’m entering Graduate School while Hector is still in High School. Nick is doing a bunch of stuff too trying to run a label. We want to play anywhere we can though when we can.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would play any show really. I don’t care if it’s with Nickelback.

9. Whom not?

I would not play with Justin Bieber, he sucks.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No idea, I mean we all fuck up some times, right?  And the tip for beginner would be to play really loud. No one will notice.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Merauder, Dmize, Hatebreed, Stigmata, Trial, Unbroken, Converge, Grimlock, Indecision, Turmoil, Throwdown.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing

13. What do you think of your fans?

I have no idea, I think most are just homies for now.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is rad for reaching out to bands from all over. We’re just a local band from California so getting international appeal is pretty awesome. I know I answered a lot of questions pretty tongue-in-cheek but it means the world that someone is checking out the music. Thanks so much again!

15. Something to add?

Listen to Hectors other band Outrage, they fucking rule and all those dudes are the fucking best and I want them to blow up. http://outraged.bandcamp.com/
