Clear The Auditorium - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Not the most interesting story, we just came up with it one day!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

We started this band with an aim to do something different to the others bands in our area. Playing this genre really leaves us free to experiment with our music and create new sounds and styles.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

The band has gone through a lot of lineup changes over the years. The founding members were school friends, but members have changed since then, and now we all know each other through the band!

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Dafydd - My Chemical Romance/Enter Shikari

Caleb - Periphery

Conor isn't here to let us know right now, so we're going to go ahead and guess that it's One Direction.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

We usually write our songs to tell stories, either individually or together as concept records, so normally we will think of a scenario or a character and write around that, while still taking inspiration from everyday life and personal experiences.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last gig was a headline show in Fuel Club in Cardiff. It was our last show with our old guitarist Matt!

7. Where would you like to act?  

We would love to play all around the UK and possibly further afield in the future!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

To feature with big bands like Enter Shikari or Linkin Park would be incredible, but even smaller bands like The One Hundred would be a lot of fun!

9. Whom not?  

We wouldn't be against working with anyone!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

It's something that happens to everyone and gets easier as time goes on and as you become more experienced. You need to battle through it at first, but it gets easier! Learn to channel your nerves into excitement.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Musically, any bands that mix electronic music with rock, our original inspiration being Pendulum. Lyrically, theatrical bands like My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds to Mars or even bands like Pink Floyd!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Just getting asked for autographs and photos is surreal in itself, but we can't think of anything especially strange we've been asked for!

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We love and appreciate every single person who has ever listened to and enjoyed our music, it means the world.
