Interviews: IN VICE VERSA
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metal/Post-Hardcore band IN VICE VERSA from Thailand, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Yes, the name 'In Vice Versa' is meant to be like this. We like the letter 'V' and the word 'Vice Versa' sound good to us. We also believe in the good and bad fortune in numbers too and 'In Vice Versa' as a hidden number 9 in it, which considered the luckiest number according to Thai believe.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Our love for music has always been in the hardcore/metal genre. If we were to create music for a different genre then we would not be able to put as much passion as we are able to put into our music. We might not be making millions or having our songs on played on the radio, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, we [ Muki (drums), Ar (bass) and Chuth (guitar) ] are close friends before. We used to play in different bands until we decided to stick together. Then one day we saw Michael on YouTube and really like his voice. So we contact him through Facebook. We asked him if he want to come to Thailand and make music with us and he said yes. Now we're family to each other.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Michael – Parkway Drive Chuth – As I Lay Dying Ar – Architects Muki – The Word Alive
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
All the bands out there that have managed to make a living creating music have given us huge amounts on inspiration. Making your dreams come true is no easy task, so watching people that have managed to do just that gives us motivation to keep on pushing.
6. Where was your last gig?
In Vice Versa as a band has not done any gigs yet. Some of us have done shows in our previous bands, but as of this moment our primary task is getting out our upcoming album and promoting our music online. Our new vocalist Michael is from the United States and the other 3 of us live in Thailand, so we have a couple things to sort out before we are able to start touring.
7. Where would you like to act?
If by act you mean tour, then the real question is where would we not want to act?! Primarily our goal will be to start with some tours within Asia, and then hopefully we can branch out to the U.S. and Europe. Part of the dream of making a living off of your music includes traveling the world and seeing things that many never get the opportunity to see. We plan on accomplishing just that!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Parkway Drive, Northlane, Architects, Asking Alexandria, Issues, Chelsea Grin…the list will never stop!
9. Whom not?
We will be able to better answer that question after we have had the opportunity to tour with some of the amazing bands out there! Hopefully we will never have an answer to that question and everyone turns out to be a bunch of good people.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes all of us have suffered from stage fright. The best tip all of us can offer is to EMBRACE IT! Stage fright makes you feel alive…as long as you have practiced and prepared for the moment, you can let your nerves energize. Don’t concentrate all the minor details such as “what if my voice squeaks” etc. , just get out there and let your passion for music take over.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Parkway Drive released 2 documentary DVDs about their music careers, and they had a huge impact on all of us. Seeing how they grew from nothing to everything is truly amazing. There are countless other bands that we look up too as well.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Everyone loves Muki drummer, we probably shouldn’t share a couple of the requests .
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans mean everything to us. They are what drive us out of bed in the morning. They are what motivate us to sit in the studio for countless hours trying to come up with good riffs. They give meaning to the music we put out, and that is all that we can hope to achieve. They continue to support us, and we hope to continue to put out music that can touch their lives in a positive way.
14.What do you think of our site?
We love what you guys are doing. Helping expose bands to a broader base of people, we can’t thank you enough! Keep it up, we will all be reading.
15. Something to add?
We have lots of music coming out over the next couple months. So keep an eye and ear out for us!
