Half Hearted - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Sean and Mike decided that they wanted the band name to be catchy before the entire formation of Half Hearted. They came up with Half Hearted because it is easily recognizable and has an impactful sound.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

As musicians, we wanted to pull influences from multiple genres into a combination which sounds unique and that someone would hear and know immediately that it is Half Hearted. We pride ourselves on not being confined to a singular genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We were somewhat acquainted with each other from other bands in the local scene. Some of us were close before the formation of the band, but most of us met upon the initiation of the band and immediately clicked.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Parker - The Used

Mike - The Devil Wears Prada

Jason - Blessthefall

Marty - Brand

New Sean - Mayday Parade.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Our own personal drives inspire us. How our days go, personal lives, and points that we want to get across and ideas we want to leave behind.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Nothing to answer.

7. Where would you like to play? 

We would like to play at the Chain Reaction in California and eventually play overseas in Europe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

We would love to do a song with Oli Sykes from Bring Me the Horizon, Jake Taylor from In Hearts Wake, Mike Hranica from The Devil Wears Prada, and we would love to collaborate on an album with John Feldmann!

9. Whom not? 

There's no one we wouldn't at least consider working with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

We all have dealt with stage fright, but as soon as we get on stage we don't feel afraid anymore.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Blessthefall, In Hearts Wake, Queen, Erra, and Of Machines have influenced our music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Our autographs over the Internet via fax.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We love our fans because their support allows us to continue being a band and releasing music.
