Clockwork - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore/Melodic Hardcore band Clockwork from Vietnam, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name?

We started off as a cover band called Sky Maze but quickly began feeling the creative itch to write original content. Some internal conflicts soon ensued that resulted in two of our founding members leaving the band. The following months were marked by toil, disagreements and misunderstandings that esacalated to full fledged fights; but Duc (Drummer), An(Guitarist) and Long(Vocalist) were determined to show the world what we were capable of. Nothing and no one would tear us apart. We would stop for nobody. It was at this time that we took on the name of Clockwork. Each of us represents a single piece of the clock; we work together in unison like a well oiled machine.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

I think that our music reflects who we are and what we believe. We all grew up listening to ‘core’ and were influenced musically, and to a certain extent socio-culturally, by bands like Architects, Stick To Your Guns, AILD, ABR, Northlane, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, Heaven shall Burn, Mastodon, Phineas, Voice of Ruin, Chelsea Grin, Born of Osiris, Dark Tranquillty, In Flames, COB etc.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The heavy music scene in Vietnam is beginning to bud so over the last couple of years the young metal heads have had a chance to bond at shows. We hope to see the nation acknowledge and celebrate our music as we continue expand the scene along side our fellow brothers and sisters.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our songs are generally a reflection of our daily ponderings with regards to the events we see unraveling around us.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played in our hometown Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam.

7. Where would you like to act?

We are always stoked to be able to play for people who are receptive to our sound, but would love the chance to play in countries enjoying a robust and thriving tradition of metal so that we may learn how to better expand the Saigon underground.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Everyone has it at first! Just try to take a deep breath and embrace the rush of adrenaline. One more tip: Be prepared.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Mostly, modern artists, Architects, Northlane, Burning down Alaska, etc

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

No fan has ever asked us anything!

13. What do you think of your fans?  

I think our fans are our brothers/sisters
