Interviews: Emergency Broadcast
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore band Emergency Broadcast from Turkey, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
At first we were looking for different things, we even took a voting among us, but then we considered that we want to tell people something and came up with "EMERGENCY BROADCAST" name. It was kinda look spontaneous, we think if it was planned it wouldn't be so suitable.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Hardcore is a culture. Especially in our country its really hard to perform in this genre and the audience is a scarce. But as we said earlier, besides that hardcore is a culture and a lifestyle, its enough for us to know that we are being able to give people some message throughout the stage and seeing them VIOLENT DANCING. These reasons are keeping us alive. We hope we will initiate the development of this genre in our country.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We've been with this crew since last one and a half year. Earlier than that we know each other via our musician friends.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Yiğit: Your Demise, Terror, Stick To Your Guns, Comeback Kid, Lionheart, Death Before Dishonor
Ediz: Sick of it All, Agnostic Front, Rise of the Northstar, August Burns Red, Hatebreed, Terror, First Blood, Comeback Kid, The Ghost Inside
Can: Terror, Sick of it All, Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, No Turning Back, Have Heart
Cihan: Have Heart, Terror, Defeater, Stick To Your Guns
Serdost: Children of Bodom, Pantera, Stick to Your Guns, The Ghost Inside, Terror.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
This stupid system which imposed to us and to the other people in the world.
6. Where was your last gig?
It was at sixdogs club at Athens,Greece.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would like to play at all big festivals which have a huge hardcore fanbase but if we have to name it specifically the festivals like vans warped tour, impericon, ieper, groezrock, summerblast are the ones which excites us.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Terror, Madball, Stick To Your Guns
9. Whom not?
Not specifically.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
When you are a beginner at the stage, there is some tension going on, but we all got it through, our guitarist Can says he used to drink 3-4 pints of beer to chill before the concert, but as we said, we all got it through. A live concert is an exciting entertainment and fun event for us now. Our bassist Ediz adds, no matter which stage that he has been, he's always be trilled to play live and make some noise. Our advise to beginners is, just be yourself and let all the energy flow through stage. The rest will come easily, they will see that.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Terror, Hatebreed, Pantera, Agnostic Front.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
There was a guy who wanted Serdost(guitarist) to come his side and make headbang with him. Serdost adds also, there was a guy who want a pick from him after every song that we've been playing just because he doesn't want to give money to the pick.
13. What do you think of your fans?
As we release new materials, we gain more fans. We always try to do our best for our fans by evaluating the feedbacks from our recordings that we present and the feedbacks from our live concerts. Besides, the latest tour on Greece was really interactive, we met so many people and have new fans for our band. A group with a specific fanbase means that groups responsibilities has increased a lot. We wish we get more feedbacks from our fans, we really love to see them moshing and going mad at our concerts. Just seeing that will be enough for us to make us happy and excited about everything.
14. What do you think of our site?
We think your site is really helpful for the bands who want to take things to a next level for their appearence on the core community. Nowadays, promotion is everything for the new bands, and you guys helped so many groups to achieve that promotion they needed. And not just for bands, for those who want to discover new bands could really enjoy your site too, because there is a lot of group out there and they want to discover the best of them.
15. Something to add?
In Turkey, its really hard to make hardcore music. We try to make the music we love by using our own resources and potentials. The support from hardcore/metalcore community that comes from both from here and from foreign countries will help us for our production for the further releases. We thank you especially for your assistance in this matter and will be looking forward to continued support.
