Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore band Sokera from Brazil, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name of the band was an old idea that came with friends from another band. We wanted to do something more "thug-ish", but this idea never became real. So, when we were forming this band, the name sounded so nice and ironical with the lyrics I were working on, that I asked if I could use the name. And here we are now.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Well, we pretty mich just wanted to play hardcore in a way that we enjoy. I couldn't even try to classify ourselves as any specific subgenre of hardcore. We have a lot of NYHC, Melodic hardcore, punk, Metalcore and even grindcore influences. It just comes naturally to us. There's no planning.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us knew each other from some time before the band. I've used to play with Alexandre and Paulo in a metalcore band called  All Still Burns, before Sokera. I knew Felipe from his works with other bands and Matheus as a fellow photographer. We formed this band based on affinities and knowing we would get along nicely together. Everyone's real friends now.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I woudn't know. I don't even know my own favorite. But, besides our similar tastes, everyone has a different music background. Paulo is into a lot of classic melodic and heavy metal, Felipe likes a lot of punk and pop punk, Matheus is our "melodic hardcore" guy, Alexandre listens to a lot of prog metal (he really digs playing hardcore, but I guess he listens to few hardcore bands, though) and I listen to a LOT of stuff, and a lot of weird stuff. Anyway, furious hardcore is a passion for all of us.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our music comes naturally from our day to day life. The lyrics are mostly about friendship, trust, non-violence, hate (as a bad thing), equal rights... We write about a lot of stuff we like and dislike.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at the Local Pride fest. It's a mini-fest that takes place at a NGO that helps people with mental disabilities. We help gathering donations of food and clothes. The shows happen during the afternoon, right next to a pool. It is a really cool project.

7. Where would you like to act?

EVERYWHERE. No, seriously. We really do want to play anywhere possible outside our city. We love travelling and playing. Big gigs, small gigs, we just love playing!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

First and foremost: our friends. Bands like Surra, Lost In Hate, Molho Negro and other bands that help and support us somehow, even the local ones. The big ones.... well, there is a gigantic number of bands we love. But personally I would love to play with Comeback Kid, Stick to Your Guns, Terror, Dead Fish... there's a lot of them!

9. Whom not?

There's no such thing. I would love to play even with bands I really dislike. Getting their audience to hear what I have to say and confronting ideas I disagree is part of the purpose of this band.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I guess everyone has it, in different degrees. The day that sensation fade is the day we'll be doing something wrong. To begginers: face it! It IS worth it. Believe it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Dude, a real bunch of hardcore and metal bands. Terror, Madball, Comeback Kid, Dead Fish, WolfDown, Stick To Your Guns, Bane, Bullet Bane...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We're a new band. This is our fist year of existence. nothing really weird happened yet. But I'm sure it will happen eventually. hahahaha

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're still few in numbers, but real close to us and real friends! I guess most of them get the message in our lyrics and feel just like us. It's really nice to connect with people like that!

14. What do you think of our site?

I really dig the work you guys do, helping small bands to reach new people around the globe. Thank you for this opportunity and keep up the good work!

15. Something to add?

STAND FOR SOMETHING!
