In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Forever A Vendetta from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Jesse: Band already had the name when I joined. Loved it right from the start though.
Joe: I'm pretty sure Andy Ward (our old guitarist came up with it).
Brett: We just kinda blurted it out one night at practice. It had a good flow to it.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Jesse: The hardcore genre has always spoken to me personally. There is something more than just music going on. Brotherhood, integrity, trails with hard times in life. I think anyone should be able to relate.
Pat: The crowd participation and crowd response to this music.
Joe: Been involved in hardcore for years always wanted to play in bands. Got into hardcore and that was it.
Johnny: Because I couldn't cut it singing like Whitney Houston And I always loved heavy music.
Brett: I got into Hardcore at the age of 12 and I wanted to combine all of the elements that Inspired me growing up. When I was growing up there was a huge scene around here and a lot of great bands that I looked up to. When I first stated playing guitar I'd learn all of their songs and that's how I developed my style that I have now.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Jesse: All good friends that had been in or to each others shows. One of the best parts of being in this band was being with friends.
Pat: Absolutely partied with these freaks for years.
Joe: Known everyone for a long time which I think always makes things better. Lots of parties and good times with all these guys. Johnny and me were in Could Care Less prior to FAV.
Brett: Yeah we've all known each other for a long time. From different bands and drunken shenanigans!!
Johnny: Yes everyone been my homie for years. I've known brett since we was kids.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Jesse: Favorite band.... uhhhhh If im staying true to the trend in this interview i would have to say sick of it all. Its one of those bands that just never gets old for me.
Pat: Acacia strain,ghost inside, terror.
Joe: That's a hard question. I think it changes all the time. Two constants were Blood for Blood because it got me into hardcore and Metallica because it got me into heavy music. Brett: I can never pinpoint one particular band but two bands that always come to mind when I think about what got me into this music, that I've listened to since day 1 and continue to listen to all the time are Biohazard and Machine Head.
Johnny: You know this is impossible to do. I mean different moods call for different styles. Let's see.... uhh... it is probably a generic answer but madball is the band that solidified my love for this music. When I was younger and no one was home I'd stand in front of a mirror and try and sounds like freddy.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Jesse: My inspiration to play comes from a desire to do something other than spend a life like an indentured servant. mindlessly pissing away hours working and not creating anything of real perpous or value.
Pat: Different things in life.
Joe: Depends on the song but normally the negative things in life. People suck so they give you plenty of material to work with.
Brett: Listening to new/different stuff inspires me to write. If I hear something that makes me wonder "how did they do that", that inspires me to write something good.
Johnny: That everyday bull shit. I feel like I write best when I'm going thru some shit when the emotion is raw. I ain't gonna try to make up a scenario that don't exist for the sake of writing songs.
6. Where was your last gig?
Johnny: Whitman ma with all my boys. Jesse: Dive bar with a ton of friends. The best shows are the ones where you know almost every face in the crowd.
Pat: The Office in Whitman.
Joe: Office in Whitman with Brick By Brick, Cease To Exist, Hold The Keep, Stasis (Barfight Champs and Caught Dead were supposed to play but had to drop last minute).
7. Where would you like to act?
Johnny: I personally don't give a fuck bout that shit. But to answer the question. ... cali where it's warm. Ha Jesse: Belgium seems to appreciate our style so Id have to go where we could really have a good time and meet like minded people.
Pat: Japan and Europe.
Brett: I'd like to get anywhere over seas and play over there.
Joe: Anywhere I haven't played before.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Jesse: always wanted to share the stage with blood for blood. they seem like our kinda people.
Pat: I'm not picky I'll play with anyone. But specifically I wanna share the stage with acacia strain or terror.
Johnny: Featuring our homie frankie chairs from scars of deceit and barfight champs, was dope. I'm a simple dude.
Brett: We've been blessed to share the stage with one of my favorite bands ever which is Biohazard, if we could ever share the stage with them again I'd love that.
Joe: I'm not picky I'll play with anyone. But specifically I always wanted to share the stage with Blood For Blood but for obvious reasons that won't happen.
9. Whom not?
Jesse: emmure, hatebreed, any other band twisting hardcore into fashion and "scene" fuckers who only show up to crowd kill and then bitch about getting hit.
Pat: Maybe nickleback or creed.
Joe: Justin beiber, but then again it would be funny to fuck with all his brainwashed fans. Brett: Nickleback Hahahaha!!!
Johnny: Christina Aguilera.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Jesse: I have a measure of stage fright before every show. Its a good feeling in a way. If you arent nervous i think it means you dont really care about your fans or sounding good/putting on a good performance.p.s. whiskey helps
Pat: Beers ,whiskey and dont forget to have fun
Joe: I have, still do some times. Johnny is the reason I sang it all basically just told me I was doing it and the rest happened. For new people? Few beers always helps, but just go up there and say fuck it I'm gonna do it. Have fun with it the rush is worth the stage fright.
Brett: Of course!! I've got out there before and my leg wouldn't stop shaking until a couple songs in!! After a while you just get used to it and if the crowd is really into your music that helps a ton and eases any stage fright. Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? Just say fuck it, go out there and jam. If people aren't into your band fuck'em. Just have fun and try to play the best you can.
Johnny: Haha always been a concern of mine and I still get nervous. But at the beginning it was the worst. Your afraid your gonna bomb forget your lyrics and freeze. I used to get really shitfaced before playing numb out all feeling. But as time went on, just be on point with your shit and look people in the eyes nothing more weird for a person than when you make eye contact with the singer. Like.... they start thinking why he staring at me. Haha.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Jesse: Black Sabbath was my introduction to heavy music when i was a kid. If it werent for my dad cranking their records who knows what shit id be into today.
Johnny: Inspired me.. madball I guess like said in earlier question. It answers this question pretty good. Lots of local bands tho.
Pat: Cannibal corpse and early dying fetus and old cradle of filth.
Brett: A local band from back in the day "Brawl Park" always inspired me growing up. Check them out on YouTube it's some good shit. There have been lots of bands over the years that have inspired me. I went from listening strictly to hardcore as a kid to expanding my horizon to a lot of metal throughout the years.
Joe: I'd have to say the bands I was seeing before I started playing in bands. Strength for a reason always put on an awesome show even if it was only a few people. Death threat was the same. Basically even if it's only a few people play like there's a big crowd is what i got out of it.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Jesse: To borrow equipment. Most of our fans are in bands themselves and I always find it odd that they would show up to play completely unprepared.
Joe: Any of our merchandise.
Brett: A Blumpkin!!
Johnny: My friends are my fans and they some weird ass mother fuckas .
13. What do you think of your fans?
Jesse: Our fans are friends, family and much more to us. There are people we can truly rely on and appreciate us at our shows. It fulfilling.
Pat: Freaks with a drinking problems.
Joe: Lunatics all of them.
Brett: I have much love for anyone who enjoys our music and I thank everyone for checking us out and supporting us.4
Johnny: As previously stated. Our friends are our fans and I love my friends so. They are pretty fucking awesome.
14. What do you think of our site?
Jesse: Love a site that can support music and spead local artists such as yours.
Pat: Great site, awesome what you're doing for bands. Thank you for including us.
Brett: Great site with lots of great bands and info
Joe: Great site, awesome what you're doing for bands. Thank you for including us.
Johnny: Stella, great job fellas.
15. Something to add?
Jesse: Its been a hell of a time playing with these guys. It will remain one of the fondest times in my life and ill continue to wish i had drank a little less and remembered a little more.
Brett: Thanks for sharing an interest in our music, it's greatly appreciated!!
Johnny: Yeah. Go add "cold dayz" on facebook. It's my other band. Should have some tracks by summer it's a new band so be patient. Also thanks to frankie chairs for his guest vocalization on our latest ep and everyone who came to do gang vocals.
