Track By Tracks: Break The Chains - Southside Hardcore (2013)

1. Burn The Vision :

Burn The Vision includes the words “Break the Chains” a few times, because we wanted to have a song that expresses what we stand for as a band. Break the chains is a very open expression and you can interpret a lot. For us, it means tolerance in every situation of life. Everybody is equal by nature and only what we do and how we grow is what makes us different. We have no tolerance for people who have problems with other races or other believes. Who the fuck cares if you eat meat or if you don’t? Who the fuck cares if you love a girl or a boy? Everyone is responsible for their own life and what makes them happy individually. No one has the right to judge anyone else.

2. Side By Side:  

We released Side By Side as a single on Youtube, because we thought that this is the song that describes us best. A bit over 2 minutes long and just pure Hardcore – this is what we are. But there was one really challenging thing during the writing process: We were discussing about half an hour for just one short part of the song (the part you can hear from 1:43-1:44). The lyrics are about friendship and people who go to hell and back for somebody else. No matter what it takes, they will stand side by side.

3. Southside Hardcore:

Southside Hardcore was meant to represent our whole local scene and all the bands and people who went to the shows, supported everything and had a good time. The words: “Southside Hardcore at its best, we flock here from east to west. We stay united and we are always moving forward.” should have expressed that. It still does, don’t get us wrong, but our local scene is diminishing rapidly and it’s getting harder and harder to play shows today. The song itself is very short and ends the EP with a groovy 2-step.
