Interviews: Alaska Alaska

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Punk  band Alaska Alaska, from Wales (UK). Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We got it from a film called Into The Wild which if you haven't seen it i would suggest it! 

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

The moment i heard Latterman "our better halves" i wanted to play music like that, energetic and well thought out lyrics. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

No i met leah through friends and tom i also knew from a friend of a friend and dave just appeared out of nowhere! 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Mine (Jamie) Favourite bands are Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Latterman and The Menzingers, Leah's are Brand new. Toms fav bands Basement/Pink Floyd/Kenny Loggins.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Anything and everything just anything that effects me i try and put it into lyric form and make it relatable to myself and others 

6. Where was your last gig? 

Apologies I have none who were awesome! 

7. Where would you like to act? 

I'd love to play in Alaska (ironically) and on a beach in Hawaii! 

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

The Menzingers or Brand New or Gnarwolves 

9. Whom not? 

Erm some of those new terrible warped tour bands... 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

I panic whenever I'm on a stage on my own like i literally just screw up every second but when I'm in a band and have other people playing with me it gives me a boost in confidence and i don't get a problem i guess you just gotta overcome it and believe in yourself. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Far too many to describe but for the bands sound i'd say Gnarwolves, Bangers, Woahnows and Apologies i have none have and then some long island punk such as Latterman, The Movieline, Brand new and crime in stereo and then bands like The Menzingers, The Gaslight Anthem and hot water music have all had an impact on our musical sound 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We have fans? 

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Awesome they are all really nice people and they all support us and try and help us and its awesome to have these people around! 

14. What do you think of our site? 

Its awesome man and the sponsored bands thing is an awesome idea! 

15. Something to add? 

Yeah we are releasing our new EP "Never Thought we'd get this far" on the 17th and the gig is in LE PUB in newport with our friends Harker and Bicycle Thieves both really cool bands!
