News: SPIRIT ANIMAL Unveil “Big Bad Road Dog” Music Video Exclusively With BloodyDisgusting.com

Brooklyn-based alternative rock band, Spirit Animal, have made an impressive mark on the music scene with their wildly exciting and absurdly catchy signature sound. Blending an expansive landscape of musical influences, they’ve been coined as a chaotic combination of rock and pop, fueled by the unruly aesthetics of psych and funk. The band released their second EP, World War IV, via Wind-Up Records in February 2016 to an overwhelmingly positive response. The EP’s breakout single “Regular World,” which The Deli Magazine raved “manages to be anthemic, punch, and cheeky at once,” has garnered praise and over 3 million collective track streams.

Today (and just in time for Halloween), Spirit Animal have partnered with horror site Bloody Disgusting to unveil a spectacularly bloody and brutal music video, which features Muay Thai champion fighters, for their World War IVEP standout track, “Big Bad Road Dog”. When asked about the treatment for the video, vocalist Steve Cooper shared, Growing up, a lot of kids idolize movie stars, enjoy play-fighting, and are drawn to toy weapons, but unless you decide to become an actor you don't explore the possibility of actually making an action film. Even as artists who have released some pretty wild videos and are constantly challenging ourselves in terms of character and concept development, we don't walk around every day thinking, "I can't wait to get put in a chokehold by a Muay Thai champion," or, "when is the next time I'm going to pretend to beat someone to a bloody pulp?" This video let us realize those fantasies without having to spend our entire lives striving for them.”
