Interviews: While My City Burns

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band While My City Burns, from Iceland. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Kris: Well, finding band names is one the hardest things to find in early stages of a band. After struggling for weeks, we finally found a name by watching Christopher Nolan's ''Batman: the Dark Night Rises''. When one of the characters said ''I do fear dying in here while my city burns, and there's no one here to save it.''

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

We all have a passion for heavy music!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Gauti: Yes i knew all the guys!

Kris: I met Gauti skateboarding when we were 12 then couple years later we started working together but we had not seen each

other for years and bonded over the same music taste

Úlfar: No we met at a bar 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Gauti: Billy Talent,The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon.

Kris: Avenged Sevenfold,Panic at the disco, twenty one pilots, muse, Asking Alexandria , Hollywood Undead.

Úlfar: shadow of intent, infant annihilator, whitechapel and lamb of god.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Gauti: Everything inspires me to write songs and growing as a musician......and alcohol.

Kris: Mostly songs, and of course following my favorite bands and see what they have accomplished and wanting to pursue that dream.

Úlfar: Some songs just write themselves.

6. Where was your last gig? 

We had a video premiere party at Gaukurinn Reykjavík with icelandic finest Snowed In.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Brixton Academy, Rock Am Ring.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

So many bands come to mind!

9. Whom not? 

Lil Wayne. 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Alcohol and fuck it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Gauti: So many things inspire me, i love symphonies and putting my mix into it!

Kris: Avenged Sevenfold.

Úlfar: Whitechapel, Lamb Of God and Keith Merrow. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Play at my brithday party (and we did).

13. What do you think of your fans? 

WE love all of our fans.
