News: MIND EQUALS BLOWN Premieres RORY LAVELLE "Poor Pride"

In anticipation of his full-length debut, acoustic alt-rock songwriter Rory Lavelle is back with his second single 'Poor Pride', a heartfelt song about love and loss. The emotion-laden track captures both Rory's skill as a poetic songwriter and a talented vocalist.  Though the single addresses the hardships of love, its cheerful melody and soft string-section backdrop will have you dreaming of the good times. 

"'Poor Pride' is a song about being stuck in a bad situation in grim surroundings and yearning for the embrace of a loved one," admits Rory, "which was exactly where I was when I wrote it. It was the start of a magical period of my life with someone I couldn’t get enough of, but I was suddenly ripped away from all that, out of the sunshine and into the rain. I was stationary, mute, and miserable but in hindsight it made the together times all the more special. It's a love song, I know I shouldn't with my history of alt rock leanings but I write one every 5 years or so whether I want to or not!”

Honesty is a prevalent theme throughout 'Waves', which touches on everything from human fragility, insecurity, and the pressures of modern living.  The album, Rory's foray into solo work, will debut in April.
