Interviews: Exoskeleton

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band Exoskeleton, from Finland. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or it came out just like that?  

Lio: We wanted a name with only one word, so it would be easy to remember, I suggested ExoSkeleton because it speaks of self growth and evolution, something that is of major importance to music creation and life in general  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

The "core" genre is the future of metal, and it is open for all sorts innovations and new ways of aproaching the heavy sound. It's flexibility speaks to us, but we're not the ones who define what our music is called, so we don't put much tought into it  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?   

Lio: Me and Mimi knew eachother before the band, the rest of the guys joined after our first ep Detachment came out. Mimi and I had a very clear idea of how we wanted to sound like, so we wanted a group of people that would embrace that idea and help us to improve it. First as a duo we put the ep together and only then we searched for the rest of the members.  

4. Each band member favourite band?   

We all listen to many different genres, but metal is the one that binds us together, it goes from behemoth to periphery, from dream theater to  tool, even nickelback is on this list.  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?   

So far, the idea behind the name of our band inspire our songs, self growth, improvement, evolution.  

6. Where was your last gig?   

We are actually about to have our first gig very soon, we haven't officially announced it  yet, but  be tuned to our social media to read more about it soon!  

7. Where would you like to act?   

There are so many places, so many great festivals like Wacken, Rock Am Ring, Rock in Rio, we want all of it, bring it!  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

We have so many favorite artists, it would be hard to just pick one, recently we are being compared a lot with system of down, so it would be crazy cool to feature with them!  

9. Whom not?   

There is nobody that we wouldn't want to feature with, like we said earlier, we have many favorite artists and we are also very open minded with our music, so collaborating even with artists from totally different genres could be very interesting  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?   

We all get nervous from time to time. The best way to deal with that is trusting the people sharing the stage with you, they will have your back. One of the great perks of being in a band is that you are not out there alone, so rely on your band mates and everything will be just fine.  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?   

We try not to bring too much influence from other bands to ExoSkeleton, we all have our personal heroes and bands that we admire, but when it comes to creating, we only focus on ourselves.  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?   

Lio: So far no fan has asked me weird enough stuff to mention here  

13. What do you think of your fans?   

Smartest people in the world.
