Interviews: Hypergiant A.E

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore/Djent band Hypergiant A.E, from South Africa. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

So we originally had the name Sun Eater but shortly after we came up with that Job For A Cowboy dropped an album with that name so we obviously couldn't use it so we went with something along similar lines as some of our lyrical themes revolve around science fiction and plus it sounds bad ass haha.  

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's never really been about playing a specific genre, rather that it was us playing the kind of music we loved hearing.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Oh yeah definitely. We've all been friends and in other bands with one another for several years so that definitely helps the dynamic.  

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Rheese - Iconoclast      Mike - Kublai Khan     Pierre - Thy Art Is Murder     Luca - Jedi Mindtricks     Pete - Within The Ruins  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our passion for heavy fucking music, our general disdain for humanity and the possible gloomy futures the earth will face.  

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven't played live yet as we wanted to release an Ep before playing. We are however busy booking shows.  

7. Where would you like to act?

We'd love to play in Europe and Australia as those places have really good heavy music scenes.  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love to hopefully one day feature with bands like Iconoclast, Aversions Crown and Thy Art Is Murder.  

9. Whom not?      

Definitely not Justin Bieber because he's a douche.  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Well when I played for other bands the best trick to over come stage fright is a solid 3 beers no more because then you're too drunk to play or no less because two beers doesn't do shit haha.  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We are definitely inspired by the Australian metal scene with bands like Aversions Crown, Gravemind, Iconoclast and Thy Art Is Murder.  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Haha we are still a very small band so no weird or creepy fan requests yet.  

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We love anyone who likes and supports the music we make.
