Interviews: VOMITILE

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band VOMITILE from Cyprus. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

We first started out with the name Cannibal Bleeding then shortly after changed to Kannibal but just before we entered the studio to record our first EP we decided to change the name for good.  How we ended with the name Vomitile was actually suggested by my twin brother who wasn’t a member of the band back then. It was actually on a beer drinking session night and we were throwing names around and George said VOMITILE, we looked at each other and said that’s the one. The rest is history!    

2. Why did you want to play this genre?   

The band started out with the intention to play a form of extreme metal. Throughout the years as we have Thrash and Death metal as our main musical influences, it evolved to the style we play now which is DEATH FUCKING METAL!! It wasn’t really intentional, it just evolved!     

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?      

Yes but not so well. The metal scene in Cyprus is so small that we tend to know each other one way or the other.   

4. Each band member favorite band?      

Well that’s a tough one… for me its Armored Saint and Demolition Hammer. As far as I know George’s favorite band is Krisiun and Deicide, Panos’s are Morbid Angel and At the Gates, and Hugos’s are The Crown and Behemoth.     

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?      

I could say some movies and books but they are not as influential as the music we grew up listening to.   

6. Where was your last gig?    

Our last gig was headlining a local mini festival in Nicosia called Extreme Metal Assault which took place on 29th of June.     

7. Where would you like to act?      

Anywhere we can and are invited to play. If we’ve got a fan base in a certain countries city we would greatly want to visit and play there.     

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

No one in particular but we definitely wouldn’t mind sharing the stage with our main influences and bands we grew up listening to.     

9. Whom not?   

Can’t think of any specific bands but I would not like to share the stage with a band that’s politically connected or supporters of far right nationalist parties, racists and neo Nazis!     

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?      

Not really but for those who do suffer from stage fright though I recommend them to relax before hitting the stage and knowing that there is absolutely nothing to be scared of. Just enjoy the show and head bang like there is no tomorrow, unless you’re on tour and there is a tomorrow hehehe     

11. What bands have inspired you the most?      

With Vomitile’s song music, bands such as Morbid Angel, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide have influenced us a lot and still do I would say. Okay we tend to get influenced with a lot of other bands even outside the genre bands but those are our main ones.   

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?   

It was kind of uncomfortable and weird when someone asked me for the first time to sign our album.  Just that very first time for some reason it felt weird, but then it was very normal I guess.   

13. What do you think of your fans?   

Fucking love them! If it wasn’t for them there would be no point in us playing at all.   

14. What do you think of our site?
