Interviews: Felipe Nöthen

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal solo artist Felipe Nöthen from USA. Check out the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the project, you planned it or came out just like that?

Two months ago I decided to record an album with all the ideas that I had and couldn’t use in the band. These are good songs and I didn't want to leave them behind. So one day I was talking to my producer (Lamps) and he asked me "Why don’t you record it and show to the world what you have?". I believe it will be a challenge, but at the same time it will be easier than working with other people who think differently than me. In this way I will be able to do exactly as I think it needs to be done.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I'm eclectic, and in all those years of study I've heard a lot of different bands and styles. But I have to confess, there were times when I didn’t know what I wanted to do anymore, and I started to find myself in metalcore/djent. I like rock’n’roll and I listen to it a lot, but I believe that in this style I can express myself in the best way possible. I can put on a riff with a crazy tuning and I can do whatever I want without worrying about whether I will sell it or not.

3. Your favourite bands?

Architects, Wage War, Periphery, Slipknot, Thrice, Pink Floyd, Guns n’ Roses… I really like a lot of bands.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I think everyday things. I mean, in a single day we can be angry, sad, happy and nostalgic, so it depends on my state of mind. But after many years I found a way to put out what I'm feeling.

5. Whom would you like to feature with in your songs?

I would like to record a song with any of the artists that I mentioned earlier.

6. Whom not?

There is no one I don’t like at this point, hahaha.

7. What bands have inspired you the most?

I really like Architects, for everything the band has been through and the way they put it on their songs.

8. What do you think of our site?

I really like it. I believe you guys do an incredible job supporting artists.

9. Something add?

Thanks for the invitation and support in my projects. I hope to be able to return here soon to promote my solo album and the first Letters Into Eternity album that we’re planning to release in 2019.
