Interviews: Until I Wake

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock/Metal band Until I Wake from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name “Until I Wake” was an original an idea we had tossed around for a while. We went through a handful of names but this was one we returned to often as it relates to our lyrical content and over time “Until I Wake” grew on us!  

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Within a wide variety of sub genres of metal music, what we have created is a sound and style that we all love where our styles meet.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have each worked together at some point or another in past projects. This would be the first time we are able to bring each member together under one name.

4. Each band member favorite band?

We have soooo many favorite bands of all different sounds and styles. To name a few, Bring Me The Horizon, Oh Sleeper, Linkin Park, Asking Alexandria… the list can go on. Its hard to decide between favorites!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our music is inspired by life events, what we’re going through in the moment, struggles, overcoming those struggles etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

“Until I Wake” has yet to play a show together. We have each played tons of shows individually prior to forming.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Anywhere with a solid audience! As a band we are looking forward to playing outside of the US the most.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Any bands that bring a positive, fun vibe that can give off a great live show!

9. Whom not?

Any bands that constantly have negative press, getting removed from tours or constantly having conflicts within the industry or within their fanbase.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Nobody in “Until I Wake” suffers from stage fright, maybe some pre show excitement. If you are passionate about what you’re doing and if that means playing/performing in front of large crowds you have to be able to push your stage fright aside and be confident. Solely believe in yourself and think about how you are going to be put in the same position a million more times.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

One of the bands that has inspired us a lot is Bring Me The Horizon. Where they started, how they progressed, how they handle positive and negative publicity. There are plenty of different ways that this band has been a huge inspiration that doesn’t only pertain to the music itself.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Being so new we haven’t experienced many weird questions just yet. However we have been asked what we prefer between Chipotle or Moes…

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are about two weeks into our debut at the moment and so far the fan base we’ve created is amazing. There has been plenty of support and love from everyone since we released our debut single “Sinking Under” and we couldn’t be more lucky to have the fans that we do right off the jump!

14. What do you think of our site?

The site is awesome! It’s definitely a very good place to find new artists that are just starting, to read a bit about them and to get the opportunity to listen to their music!

15. Something to add?

We are hyped to be added to the list of new bands featured on Breathing The Core and we cannot wait for everyone to hear whats to come from Until I Wake!
