Interviews: Forgotten In Progress

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Alternative Metal/Nu-Metal band Forgotten In Progress from Austria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Our drummer had the idea to bring back metal music from the 2000s in a new coat. We wanted to make sure that this music will not be “Forgotten”

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

All of us have a very similar taste in music. The 2000s and everything that the metal music brought up after that. So in the the end, our vision of the genre we were diving into was clear,.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

It was a mix of already knowing each other and a girlfriend knowing the guitarist, who was looking for a singer on searching platforms for musicians. The singer was the last one to join the band and it took years to find the right one.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Our drummer Lukas loves Linkin Park and Annisokay. We can guarantee that when Annisokay is performing in Germany or Austria, you probably meet our drummer there. Mathias our bassist is totally into Billy Talent and Ice Nine Kills. For Ice Nine Kills we made a fun trip to Vienna with all band members and friends. Karl the guitarist is a big fan of Mötorhead and Papa Roach. One time he met Jacoby of Papa Roach before their concert and had the chance for a small chat. For him, this was a dream come true. Andi the singer is a huge fan of The Sorrow. Unfortunately, the band no longer exists but he is still hearing their music every day.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It often starts with a single riff that I play for minutes, sometimes hours and then I start to write the song around the riff. Most of the time I get ideas during the drive home from work. This is what Karl said. He writes most of our songs and he knows how to transfer emotions into a melody so well.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig was at a small club called GLAM. It was tiny, we were close to the audience, it was hot, and there were many people but those concerts were special. It is more of some kind of a family atmosphere. This is awesome.

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to perform at Nova Rock Panonia Fields. When we have reached that goal, the small and big festivals all around the world will be our next step. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There would be Papa Roach, Ice Nine Kills, Annisokay or A Day to Remember, which we would love to share the stage with.

9. Whom not?

Each band where moral values drift apart, we are not interested in working with. 

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We all have been through this. Our best advice would be to perform as much as you can to get used to it. But a little portion of the tension is good. You are more focused and when you enter the stage you can feel the flow.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Parkway Drive, Annisokay, Bring Me the Horizon, Ice Nine Kills, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, A Day to Remember, The Sorrow

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

This guy asked us: Do you want to play a concert in an old cowshed? In the end, we did. For 3 years in a row now :D

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are so grateful for all of them and for their never-ending support!!

14. What do you think of our site?

There are so many bands you can find and it is fun to explore. If you are looking for something new and special this is the right place to find it.
