Interviews About Albums: GOMAD! & MONSTER - Sickness (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Spanish Industrial Metal/Industrial Rock/Electronic Rock band GOMAD! & MONSTER to ask questions about their album "Closer To Nowhere".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

First of all, it is the first ep made with a vocalist as an official band member, back in time most songs were collaborations with other singers, so I guess it's like we are redefining our own sound and way of making music, got to say that everything flows amazingly and fast as it could be.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

With "Sickness" we are referring to one of the   4 horsemen of the apocalypse, we are              gonna conclude this series of ep's with one       more that we are currently working

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Mostly our guitarist Doc Inari is the composer of the music and lyrics of the 4 songs, in addition, our producer Alex Tena designs the sound and some of the structures, and also some small vocal parts added by our vocalist S.Shinobi.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It's hard to pick but I guess besides "Stillborn" I have to pick "You must be ours"  wich condenses all of the elements and influences (metal, techno, industrial, rock)of the band resulting in a unique song sound which makes a very peculiar genre and maybe defining as I told a unique sound which I think it's so important for the personality of a band.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

The same message that we have professed from the beginning, is the liberation of the soul and body through the "Ravenroll" music.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

There is a verse that I love in the song "Stillborn" that says: Accept defeat when you feel bound, assuming everything that was sweet has turn be sour, the greatest relief for those who found out, that there is just a one-way ticket from the top to the ground"

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

First of all to all the people that keep following and believing in us through all of these years, and second to every one of the band members, but also a special mention to our booking agency, our record label "Eclipse" and of course official photographer "Irene no te rayes".

8. Something to add?

Thanks to "Breathing the Core" for the work you do with this type of virtual magazines that keep the music scene alive from all over the world, love u guys!
