Interviews: Koma’s Totem

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band, Koma's Totem, from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Charlotte: Half of the band name (Koma) was founded years ago, it's a sort of youth pseudonym and the other half (Totem) is rather recent and corresponds to recent aspirations.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Charlotte: This is what came to me while playing, our music comes from an improvisation session (guitars/drums) bass and vocals came after, our music was not thought out or planned. Decades of immersion in rock music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Charlotte and Jux are playing in the band MELT. Olivier and Charlotte are married.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Charlotte: Nirvana / Hole / Sonic Youth

Jux: Dead Can Dance

Olivier: Plebeian Grandstand

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Charlotte: My first band Melt, mostly. The sky and anger.

6. Where was your last gig?

At Le Club Rodez!

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere we can play our music, with peaceful people in the rock sphere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Good bands in alternative and gothic rock.

9. Whom not?

Bad bands in alternative and gothic rock.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we can't really talk about stress, music is for us an intense and interesting experience.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Charlotte: Melt’s songwriting Nirvana. Hole. Breeders, etc…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

At the moment, we haven't received a particularly strange request.

13. What do you think of your fans?

It’s great to be supported and diffused, it’s a good experience.
