Track By Tracks: SUPERMODEL TAXIDERMY - At What Cost (2024)

1. WAKE UP:

A song about “partying” after a funeral/wake when the cause of death was due to the same substance of choice you are commiserating with.

2. EXORCIST FOR BEER:

A tale about finding an exorcist on the dark web who makes all your problems much worse than booze alone. By the end of the chaos in our tale, misfit Johnny forces the exorcist to quit and then goes on tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. This story was inspired by our drummer’s little brother Cole and the antics of his youth.

3. CLINICS:

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of Canada's struggle with opioid addiction, shining a spotlight on the harrowing reality faced by individuals caught in the grips of this epidemic. This song dives deep into the heart of the crisis, exploring the devastating impact it has on communities and families across the nation. Through its haunting chorus and raw emotion, "Clinics" captures the essence of the battle against addiction, offering a glimpse into the lives of those who seek solace and support in the needle exchange programs that serve as beacons of hope in the darkness. It’s an anthem for those affected by this opioid crisis, shedding light on the importance of empathy, understanding, and community support in the fight against addiction.

4. LIPSTICK:

A fun party anthem written about the women in the punk and metal music scene, this one pays homage to the girls who always go to shows. It is a song of support! Keep coming honey, bring your friends to our shows.

5. BLOOD PAINTED DASH:

It is about three hellbent teens who end up dying from their own recklessness due to drugs & alcohol, causing themselves to crash a car over a cliff. The kicker here though is that they wake up dead in the morgue having to piece together in terror what they have done. The subtle story we are pushing with this song is do not drive under the influence…because you just may wake up dead!”

6. GAGE:

A horror story is taken from the view of Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary”. Sometimes…dead is better!

7. KEVLAR:

It is about friendship, I lost a brother a few years back, and before he exited this world we had words left unsaid. I think this song clears the air, Blood is thicker than water my friend.

8. THE HANGING TREE:

It is a place you do not want to be. Metaphorically it is about the cycle of life, from where we come; we all end up. The lyrics reference an actual hanging tree and the henchmen who control it.

9. SUBLIMINAL:

It is a cover song about mind control by Suicidal Tendencies.

10. DEATH DEALER:

It is a reference to the Grim Reaper. In the end, it is not the spectacle of death that defines us, but the way we choose to live our lives so make every moment count.
