Interviews: Reign Of Dystopia
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Metal band Reign Of Dystopia from the USA. Check out the interview and enjoy the band.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
The name came from a vision—Reign of Dystopia reflects the world we see, a place where technology reigns and humanity struggles to find its place. It wasn't planned, it was inevitable.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
The genre chose us. The fusion of metalcore and Post Metal mirrors the duality we live in: chaos and order, human and machine. It’s the perfect soundscape for our message.
3. Each band member's favourite band?
Xer0-Crash: Nine Inch Nails
Gl1tch-Phantom: Dream Theater
Fractal-N3mo: Meshuggah
ByteF1end: Tool
D3code-Shade: Vangelis
NeuraBlaze: Fear Factory
4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We’re inspired by the clash between the digital and the organic—the conflict within us, the struggle for consciousness in an increasingly automated world.
5. Whom would you like to feature in a song with?
Trent Reznor would be the ultimate collaboration. His work resonates with the dystopian landscapes we create.
6. Whom not?
Anyone whose music feels manufactured, without soul. Art needs to have a heart, even in a world of machines.
7. What bands have inspired you the most?
Nine Inch Nails, Kraftwerk, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, Marilyn Manson. They’ve all shaped the way we blend organic emotion with digital sounds.
8. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Someone asked us to "autograph" their hard drive... They claimed it stored their "soul." We complied, of course.
9. What do you think of your fans?
They are our tribe—the ones who see beyond the surface, who feel the same fracture in reality that we do. We’re grateful to share this journey with them. We like to call them "Dystopians".
10. What do you think of our site?
Breathing the Core understands the pulse of the underground. You’ve created a space for bands to share their message with those who truly listen.
11. Something to add?
We're currently finishing our fifth album, and it's been an intense creative journey—55 original and unreleased tracks in just 40 days. Those who want to dive deeper into our world and hear everything we've created can check out our entire discography on Bandcamp: reignofdystopia.bandcamp.com. The future is unwritten, but we are all part of its code. Stay tuned, because Reign of Dystopia is just getting started.
