Behind The Artworks: Orion - The Lightbringers (2024)

The cover for The Lightbringers depicts some idea of who (or what) The Lightbringers are.

They are the central characters and entities in the Cycle of Light epic. What they are isn’t ever really stated. They just exist as a force to try and bring us all towards the ultimate good. There are lots of references to gravity and planetary forces within the lyrics for The Cycle of Light, as well as within some of the booklet artwork. These massive orbs bring a sense of grandeur, which is heavily reflected within the symphonic parts of The Cycle of Light.

Ultimately, there is meant to be a bit of mystery behind what the orbs are, and what they really mean. When I was talking to Hugh Syme during his process of creating the artwork, there were parts of it even I didn’t ask about. He has his secrets, and I have mine.
