Interviews: Clozure

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Clozure from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Mike C: after retiring from the Army I saw the band as completing (starting) a lifelong dream that I’ve held in my heart since I was 12 years old. For me it was CloZure.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Mike C: it just kind of developed as we developed. We each listen to different types of music so when we write together, it kind of takes on its own spirit or identity.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Zack: vaguely, I actually opened for Clozure once as local support while they were out on tour, we ended up becoming friends that night and the rest is history. I also saw Nikollaj play at louder than life a few years back, so it’s a small world. 

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Mike C: Alter Bridge/Tesla tie. 

Mike M: Breaking Benjamin 

Matt: Thrice/ Deftones 

Nikolaj: System of a Down/ Flyleaf 

Zack: Incubus is a huge one for me, but “favorite band” changes hourly haha

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Mike C: Life, the trials, joys, and those we travel through it with. 

Matthew: Growing through life and the season that I'm in

6. Where was your last gig? 

The Winchester, Cleveland, OH Last month

7. Where would you like to act? 

Matthew: red rocks 

Nikollaj: Madison Square Garden 8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Mike C: Blacktop Mojo, Alter Bridge, and Godsmack would be good.

Matthew: sleep token, tool

9. Whom not? 

Mike C: Maybe Marilyn Manson just due to the stories I’ve heard lol. 

Matthew: oasis 

Zack: I won’t work with anyone with S/A charges. It’s on the music industry to change the music industry, and I’d like to see those types get run out of the game for good.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Mike C: maybe a little. Be prepared, rehearse, and trust your bandmates. - [ ] Matthew, I would practice playing while looking in a mirror or with the lights off to get muscle memorization.

Mike M: No, not really.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Mike C: Blacktop Mojo, Alter Bridge. 

Matthew: living sacrifice, thrice.

Mike M: Breaking Benjamin

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Nikollaj: I’ve literally had people buy my bodysuit off of me the moment I got off stage. And yes I sold it…there’s a video out somewhere where you see them but take off the top lacey bodysuit.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Mike C: Nobody out there like our fans. They are the best! 

Matthew: not fans... Family! 

Mike M: We have the best! 

Nikollaj: Extremely thoughtful and very open-hearted. 

Zack: I came into Clozure with big shoes to fill, and Clozure crew welcomed me with open arms. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better support base.

14. What do you think of our site?

Nikollaj: I think it's awesome! I love that you interview all different kinds of artists, and it allows us the band to be able to understand in a deeper level rather than just through the lyrics. So for that thank you.

15. Something you'd like to add? 

Zack: We can’t wait to see all you beautiful people on the road again in 2025!
