Track By Tracks: T.E.M.P. - Affres De Paix (2024)

“The T.E.M.P. Way”, features jungle-inspired rhythms and lyrics that reflect the band's passion and determination to energize the crowd. Sprinkled with clever culinary comparisons—because at T.E.M.P., we appreciate fine food!

1. Naître ou ne pas être (To be born or not to be):

The title addresses a social reality: why should we still have children in a world that is increasingly hostile to these innocent little beings?

2. Des mots pour arme (words as weapon):

Or how, today, we can destroy people with our words, our voices, often causing unjust harm. An ode to haters and those who choose the easy way out.

3. Néophyte éphémère (Ephemeral neophyte):

This song denounces the anonymity we escape for two months of our lives through questionable, trashy TV shows, only to return to it as quickly as we emerge.

3. Perdition pérenne (Perennial loss):

(A sequel to the previous track) tells the inevitable and tragic story of reality TV: what lies beneath after you've made a fool of yourself on screen.

4. Des Raisons (Reasons):

Successions of rage and rhythmic sweetness interwoven with thoughtful lyrics that compel us to reflect and understand. Our lives are burned, our lives are worn, our lives are broken...

5. La belle vie(The beautiful life):

Is aptly named (lol)—a bit like a pleonasm, the lyrics express everything and its opposite. The everyday person, grounded and practical, will recognize themselves in the words, all set to haunting, intense music.

6. R à voir(nothing to see):

A playful inter-group clash, written with kindness and realism—because those who love well tease well, and it’s the perfect way to get the crowd energized.

7. Contes de faits (Tales of facts):

This song is an instruction manual on how, in four minutes, your childhood dreams can be twisted into a coke-fueled reality… spike after spike, you're stuck with grams (of cocaine).

8. Tout va bien(All is well):

Another verbal thumbs-up for this track—nothing's going right, quite the opposite, and the band proclaims it loud and clear. While the guitars sound smooth in the opening moments, the ending erupts into a succession of raging, relentless riffs, all designed to create chaos in the pit.

9. Imiter la classe(Imitating class):

We spend our lives searching, often without even knowing what we're looking for… so we copy, remake, and imitate. The glaring lack of individuality is laid bare in this track, set to snarling, jerky refrains. But if you listen closely, you’ll be surprised by the soft, violent voices of children (ours, in this case). The album ends with a mix of pain and delicacy.
