Behind The Tracks: Rad Stacey - This Isn’t Tennis (Single) (2024)

This song has its roots in Joey’s former band What Separates Us. Ian first heard it when his band The Disconnect played with Joey for the first time six years ago or so. Not only did it captivate the crowd, but Ian insisted on producing it in his studio, convinced it was a solid single. Fast forward to Ian and Joey forming Rad Stacey and it was a no-brainer This Isn’t Tennis was coming into the set. During pre-production of Vibe Rider, This Isn’t Tennis was the first song on the board. The whole album was recorded in studio using organic drums, guitars, and vocals to allow the emotion and feel of each song to come through to the listener. It was important that the whole band was president when recording the song, so that even though the whole band wasn’t performing at the vibe and essence and energy was there and we feel like it really did come through in the final product.
