In the Land Called Night was the first song written for the new album, and it ultimately set the musical direction for the entire release, making it a natural choice for the title track. Musically, it channels the spirit of ‘90s Swedish black metal—Dissection, Lord Belial, and Sacramentum.

 

Lyrically, the song touches on the theme of unity between man and nature. The night is only a certain perspective in which this relationship can be considered. The stars and the moon have existed for billions of years and will continue long after our lifetimes. Despite this, man being a far more fragile and short-lived being can feel part of the universe. The stars, the moon and the darkness of the night are something constant, repeatable, something unchanging and eternal. They are something to return to after every sunset - to the land called night.
