Track By Tracks: Disoriented - Crossed The Line (2024)
1. Wait for the bullet:
For this track, we wanted to establish the revolutionary tone of Groove Metal. The message is
simple, but powerful, and the instruments complement each other to carry out the message of
bloody revolution and whatever fate it may entail to the rebel. Defiant, even when he has to
“wait for the bullet”...
2. Human Affected:
George, our guitarist, came up with this during his death-metal phase. He really wanted to play
something that was the polar opposite of the genre we play, and still make it “our own”. It's
one of our more heavy tracks, featuring powerful drums from Tasos and low guttorals from
George, as a result.
3. In Between:
This track talks about being “on the verge”. It's a feeling that each and every single one of us
has gone through, and some are still struggling to this day. We specifically don't talk about
what “being on the verge” is, so that the listener can fill in the blanks themselves. We simply
describe the feeling, as we all have experienced it in the past (some of us still do…)
4. Kintsugi:
This is the first song written almost in its entirety by our bassist, Kyriakos. When he entered the
lineup, we were still disorganized and alienated due to the end of the COVID madness, and he
came to us with fresh ideas and most importantly, the energy to carry on. The track itself references the art of mending something with gold, a.k.a. kintsugi in Japanese.
5. Bipolar:
This is our oldest track and one of our most popular tracks to this day. We owed it to ourselves
and our fans to remaster it properly and with our new lineup.
6. Only Gods Feel Pain:
This track talks about the hidden strength inside each one of us, and how pain is not our
weakness, but instead can be the catalyst to our success in life. It features some explosive
drum fills from Tasos. Something the viewers may notice is that we don't follow the traditional
archetype of groove metal song composition. Instead, we tend to stick with what “feels right” for
each song, that being a drum, guitar or bass solo. Many of our songs don't even have solos at
all, and that's by design.
7. Self-Made:
When life brings you down, sometimes you don't have a helping hand at the ready, waiting for
you. Sometimes, you are your own helping hand. This song reflects that. It's a song about all
the people that had nothing and rose up to have it all…
8. Losing Side:
George, our guitarist, came up to us one day and said “I am gonna make a song that goes from
being happy to being soul-crushing, then back to happy again, then back to sad and then -“. We
stopped him midway through and handed him the guitar. The result is one of our more technical
songs, instrumentally-wise. It features breakdown-after-breakdown, non-stop headbanging fuel,
and a story to tell.
9. Crossed the Line:
Our self-titled track is our definitive proof that our hearts are true to the Groove Metal cause. It's
a song that talks about anger and consistently brings the heat with every verse. It's our
testament to continuing being heavy, all while having a blast on the stage!
