Behind The Artworks: Noirad - Aegean Legacy (2024)

“Aegean Legacy” is a passionate tribute to the ancient Greek civilization, ranging from songs about some of their most renowned battles to some of the highly fascinating stories from their mythology. The artwork had to take all this into account and somehow concisely summarize it.

 

A sculpture might have been a perfect fit: a work of beauty that has influenced countless artists throughout history, allowing the Greek canons to survive through time.

 

Many remarkable works have amazed ancient writers through the centuries; sadly, many are forever lost, such as the Athena Parthenos and the Colossus of Rhodes. None of them would have been ideal, as what was needed was something we can still admire today.

 

Among the surviving treasures from the golden age of Greek civilization, the eastern pediment of the Temple of Aphaia holds one of the most striking statues, the one featured in the artwork.
