Behind The Tracks: House Lights - Forget You (Single) (2025)

Forget You is the first single off of our upcoming EP, The Past is Ours to Leave. It is a blend of post-hardcore, pop punk and alternative metal and tells the story of someone who has become addicted to a toxic relationship. What started out as an exciting, butterfly inducing love, has devolved into a harmful cycle of gaslighting and psychological abuse. The victim is aware of every betrayal and malicious act, but has dealt with it for so long as a trade-off for how the good times make them feel, that they can no longer extricate themselves from this negative environment.

 

A connection once built on innocence, now unraveling into something unrecognizable. "Forget You" is a reflection on love that consumes, wounds, and lingers long after it should have faded.

 

This song is for those caught between devotion and destruction, for the moments when passion turns to pain, and for the realization that some bonds aren’t meant to last.
