Interviews About Albums: Maison Dieu - Herbacea (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Doom Metal/Rock band Maison Dieu to ask questions about their album, "Herbacea".

1. What can you say about "Herbacea"?

Herbacea is our first official work, the tracks are all connected by a common thread that basically talks about the magical aspect of certain plants, we are very happy to be able to present it and we can't wait for everyone to hear it.

2. What is the meaning of the EP name?

We chose the name Herbacea to sum up a bit the meaning of the project, let's say that it reflects all the tracks on the EP and we also liked the ‘sound’ of the word.

3. Which one is the composer of the "Herbacea"?

Lyrics and guitar are composed by Ester, bass by Mauro, and drums by Ivan, we work in symbiosis and the final product is the total fruit of what we are at that moment.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Difficult to choose, we were also very undecided on which single to choose as the first extract...but we invite you to listen to ‘Mandragola’ our first extract available on all platforms.

5. Is there a special message in this EP? If there is what it is?

Since Herbacea is a hymn to the magical vegetable kingdom, our aim is to bring the listener as close as possible to empathizing and receiving this message... in general, with our music, we try to invite the listener to look inside himself sincerely and always try to appreciate the true things in life.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

The song that stands out on this EP for its lyrics is definitely ‘Musica terra e salvia’.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this EP? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

For this EP, plants clearly play an important role in the lyrics, but more generally we always let ourselves be inspired by the moment, we like to let ourselves be carried away by the music that is created between us, without finding inspiration elsewhere. We have many things to thank, certainly Michele Bellagamba for the recordings and Riccardo Saraceni for the video and photo work, but also Sliptrick Records who believed in our project, and all the people on our team who helped and supported us.

8. Something to add?

We thank you for the questions in this interesting interview, we invite you to listen to us and follow us on our social networks! Thank you!
