Interviews About Albums: A Tyrants Lament - Offerings Of The Inhumane (2025)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Canadian Death Metal/Technical Death Metal/Melodic Death Metal/Deathcore band A Tyrants Lament to ask questions about their album, "Offerings Of The Inhumane".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
This album for us feels like it took a lifetime and then some to finally come to fruition. We started this band back in 2019 and that's how long some of these songs have been around. That being said, many changes in these songs came from the time it took to finally bring it to release. As we improved, so did the songs, and we couldn't be happier with how our debut album turned out. We hope everyone else enjoys it as well.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
Offerings Of the Inhumane comes from the track of the same name, about those with a holier than thou mindset, under the guise of false piousness, committing terrible acts of depravity all the while directing the blame unto others, keeping the world and their flock under heel, preparing their lambs for slaughter.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
Every member of the band has an equal part in composing our music, all four of us coming together and bouncing ideas off each other is what makes us A Tyrant's Lament.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
If I had to choose one song as my favorite, I would say To Poison The Mind. Poison is a favorite of mine to perform live, with pure raw energy and lyrics that hit home for me.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?
I'd say the message for a majority of the album is a warning about the corrupting nature of mankind, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and there are those whose words are poison, and they seek to turn you and your loved ones against each other. No Matter who you are, or what you believe in, be kind, our time on this earth is short, and those with poisonous words only have as much power as we give them, and I say Give them Hell.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Now here I walk alone, my thoughts drag in town, a bottle in hand, a noose at the gallows, wallow in waste, you're filth a disgrace, you stare at the mirror and you lie to your face, the histories there, a path is laid bare, a trail of bodies leaves hints at my outcome, hang our heads low, take blow after blow, take one final sip give my life to the bottle. This is part of the first verse of our song Blood at the end of the bottle, a song written for those of us who may at one point abused any substance and our bodies to mask our problems, and for my friends who are no longer with us, rest in peace.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?
Many major inspirations for this album are definitely the bands we have played with so far and the friends we made along away, and for those of you who have offered us a show, your expertise or any advice you can give (you all know who you are) thank you, we couldn't have done it without you. Also a huge inspiration to see all of those who have come to a show, and told us how much you have enjoyed our music, let us know we're doing something right.
