Behind The Tracks: Seth Metoyer - House Of Echoes (Single) (2025)

“House of Echoes” is a bit like stepping into a room you thought was empty, only to feel a hand on your shoulder in the dark. I wrote it to wrestle with the past that just won’t stay buried—those memories and regrets that keep whispering long after you’ve slammed the door. It’s about facing the things that refuse to be forgotten, that sometimes haunt us more than any poltergeist. Think of it as my attempt to bottle that uneasy feeling right before you realize you’re not as alone as you thought.

Musically, I wanted to stir up the same emotional grit and melodic heft I clung to back in the early 2000s—a time in my life that felt like a perpetual midnight. Bands like A Perfect Circle, Fuel, and Chevelle were lifelines for me in that darkness, pumping adrenaline into a soul that needed something real to hold onto. So I blended cinematic sweeps with a catchy guitar riff and intense vocals, hoping to create a musical corridor where listeners could feel every echo bounce off the walls. The result is a track that’s hauntingly atmospheric yet fiercely alive, nodding to the past even as it blazes into the future.

At its heart, “House of Echoes” is a testament to how we carry our personal ghosts. Some nights, they rattle their chains and shake us to the core; other nights, they hum softly in the background, reminding us of where we’ve been. Either way, it’s all part of the journey. And if you open yourself up to the turmoil—if you let the echoes in—you just might find there’s a strange catharsis in finally facing them head-on.
