Interviews About Albums: Helegardh - Hasta El Amanecer (2025)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Chilean Hard Rock/Power Metal/Heavy Metal band Helegardh to ask questions about their album, "Hasta El Amanecer".
1. What can you say about this new CD?
It showcases our creative diversity. We tried to reflect different musical and aesthetic tastes, blending them into a rock-based sound where each song has its own unique identity. Personally, this album represents the end of a creative cycle, making way for a new phase where we can take the best from this process as a foundation for what’s coming next.
2. What is the meaning of the CD name?
It is actually the title of one of the songs in the album. In a way, we wanted to keep the tradition of naming the album after one of its tracks. However, we made this decision democratically, choosing the song title that resonated the most with the band as a whole.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD?
I wouldn’t say there is a single composer behind this album. While most of the songs originated from Javier’s creativity and others from Ricardo, it has been a collective effort. Everyone contributed to the arrangements, riffs, and even restructuring song sections. The same happened with the recording process, as we worked with different engineers before mixing everything in Argentina
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
It’s really hard to choose just one, but if my life depended on it, I’d probably pick three! LOL El día que cambió el mundo for its melodic power and lyrics, Aún sigo creyendo because of the drum groove, and The World since it blends metal and symphonic elements with a hard rock foundation, which defines our style.
5. Is there a special message in this CD? If there is what it is?
There’s no particular message, it's just music that we hope people enjoy and that helps them disconnect from daily life. If possible, we’d love it to serve as a great invitation card to our live shows and a nice memory for those who have already seen us perform. Maybe the album title sums up our intention; to awaken emotions that we don’t want to fade away, not even until dawn.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Every song in the album carries a message about the world, time, and daily life. However, Aires del mañana best represents the spirit we want to convey; that no matter how dark things may seem, tomorrow’s air will always bring a sun. Facing it with optimism, using past experiences as fuel, is the best way to move forward.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank specially?
Our inspirations come from many sources: musical, visual, and literary artists. But more than anything, it’s our two-decade-long friendship that allows us to blend these different influences. Personally, I draw inspiration from my musical heroes, family, friends, and teachers. However, above all, I think we all agree that we will always be grateful to those who believed in us and supported our crowdfunding campaign, which made this album possible, as well as allowing us to work with Edu Pereyra and have a dream-like launch at MiBar.
8. Something to add?
Just a big thank you to media platforms like this that support bands like ours. I hope our music resonates with the audience, and who knows—maybe one day we’ll get the chance to play live and share our musical energy in person, in the meantime enjoy our album as an invitation card.
