Track By Tracks: Black Rabbit - Chronolysis (2025)
The Story of Black Rabbit
At the core of the band lies the mythical tale of Black Rabbit, a demonic entity with a tragic past. He
seduces and deceives his victims, forcing them to confront their deepest sins while feeding on their
despair. Black Rabbit manipulates dreams (Hypnosomnia) and ensnares his victims in the paralyzing
grip of sleep paralysis (Chronolysis), from which there is no escape. Black Rabbit’s music serves as a
ritual, with each song forming a chapter in his growing legend. Hypnosomnia explored the boundary
between dreams and reality, while their latest EP, Chronolysis, delves deeper into the horror of sleep
paralysis.
Chronolysis: The New Chapter
With Chronolysis, Black Rabbit expands their dark mythology through five sensory stages of terror. The
story follows a victim trapped in sleep paralysis, as Black Rabbit looms at the foot of their bed. Each
track represents one of the five senses—sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste—translating the victim’s
torment into sound and lyrics. The title Chronolysis combines ‘chronoception’ and ‘sleep paralysis.’ The
victim’s helplessness symbolizes chronoception, or the perception of time, which acts as the sixth sense
and the key to this story.

Song info:
1. Malevolent Glare:
De narrator is confronted with a horrifying entity (the Black Rabbit), which disturbs his senses and
pushes him to his limits.
The visual experience of the entity is so intense that it permeates his existence and permanently affects
his senses. Although the narrator feels overwhelmed, there is a determination to fight against the
entity’s power, even though the ultimate fate seems to be that he will eventually succumb. The fear he
experiences is transformed into strength, and he attempts to resist his inevitable fate. The song
emphasizes an inner struggle, where the narrator uses his willpower to survive, despite the ongoing
nightmares that torment him.
2. Paracusia:
The character is confronted with an inexorable force that pushes them further toward the abyss. The
entity, which challenges them, promises that hope will soon fade. As the narrator slowly succumbs to
the pressure, fear rises, and darkness draws nearer. The character feels the grip of this inevitable
downfall: the body gives in, the mind is swept away, and the soul is overwhelmed by the ever-louder
whispers of madness.
The entity offers a 'blessing,' a way to fully merge with its power. The character is swept into an endless
journey through the mind, where demons await and everything is cloaked in darkness. The sounds of
pain and madness fill the space, chaos takes control, and there is no escape. Ultimately, the narrator is
forced to embrace the power, surrendering themselves to the hell that consumes them, allowing
themselves to fully merge with the darkness that drives them.
3. Pity the Mind of the Frail and the Feeble:
The character is confronted with choices that lead them down a dark, irreversible path. What began as
an incomprehensible action unfolds into a bizarre ‘fortune’ that profoundly changes them. As fear
intensifies, the presence of the Black Rabbit takes on a horrifying, inexplicable form, and the
boundaries between joy and pain blur. The touch of reality is disrupted, and everything that was once
known becomes a source of suffering.
Fear has firmly taken root in the character’s fragile mind, and the only way forward seems to be the
end of unbearable pain. The character is forced to surrender to the darkness, dissolving entirely into
the shadows of despair and pain. The journey ends in solitude, where the character must transform
themselves in the eternal struggle against their own weakness, ultimately becoming lost in the endless
void of the Black Rabbit’s influence.
4. To Be Alive, To Walk This Earth. That Is My Curse:
In this track, the character is guided by his senses through a dark dream. As he wanders through the
dream, he searches for peace, but instead, he is confronted with a sense of alienation and despair. The
scent that once brought comfort now turns into a dreadful hatred, pushing him further away from his
peace. He continues to wander, hoping for clarity, but is warned that if he goes further, death will be
inevitable. Life feels like a curse to him, and he searches for the path to inner peace, but is seduced by
the darkness. The character’s wife speaks in the intro and at the end of the track. She tries to pull him
out of his nightmare, her voice full of concern and hope. "I am unable to reach you," she says, doing
her best to shake him awake. "I see the sea of darkness," but despite her efforts, the character remains
trapped in the dark world that engulfs him. Her words express the despair of trying to save him, as he
is continuously dragged deeper into the darkness.
5. Rancid Tast of Horror:
In this final track of the album, the character reaches their ultimate confrontation with the darkness
that has haunted them all this time. The tastes of horror and revulsion linger, and the character feels
trapped in a world of pain and suffering. It seems as though their fate is to remain in this land of
torment, but even in the darkness, an inner struggle continues to burn. The character grapples with
the choices between good and evil, with a conscience that drags them deeper into doubt. The horrors
of the world around them fade into an inevitable truth: freedom can only be achieved by refusing to
surrender to the terror that surrounds them.
The struggle is not only physical but also internal, as the character bites down on the will to carry on.
Despite the despair and revulsion that envelop them, the character refuses to give in. The promise of
liberation lies not in escaping the pain but in holding on to their beliefs and determination. The
character looks toward the light that continues to guide them, their only source of hope and strength.
In a world full of darkness, the character chooses not to kneel before the terror but to keep marching
forward, determined to continue the fight.
Thus, the story reaches its end, with a final act of strength and determination. The character remains
alone, surrounded by the terror of their environment, but with a renewed sense of resolve. The darkness may embrace them, but they will never give up. The light that guides them is the last hope in a world that seems to be decaying, and the choice to keep fighting, no matter the cost, finally sets the character free in their own right.
