Band Biographies: Near Death Experience

Originally created as a solo instrumental project by Mathieu Bonfardin during Covid in May 2020, it was finally formed as a band in Nantes (France) in May 2022.

Near Death Experience (NDE) plays gothic, melancholic doom metal with clean, lyrical female vocals. With influences as varied as Paradise Lost, Draconian, Katatonia, and Moonspell.

Metallica, Black Sabbath for the riffs, as well as The Gathering or Nightwish for vocals, NDE explores the dark but intriguing theme of near-death experiences and speaks about domestic violence.

 

We played our first show in June 2023 (10 shows total until now), and we released our first album 'Brief is the light', containing 10 songs, in April 2024.
