Behind The Tracks: FieldHockey - Taxes On Taxidermy (Single) (2025)

FieldHockey: "Taxes” is such an interesting song that we’ve created because musically it’s this amalgamation of Turnstile meets Knocked Loose with just a dash of Lorna Shore for good measure! I wrote this song with the feeling of never being enough, having yourself cut down or cut apart, and then being put back together in others' image, with the feeling of never getting it right, but there’s always next tim,e right? With the addition of Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer,) feelings of remorse and misunderstanding are everywhere throughout with the feeling of anger within as well. We like to keep it positive here in FieldHockey, so of course we’re gonna send it with the message “I’ll get it right!” All in all, I feel like I just dug deep and brought up old feelings to be put in the song. I hope that everybody out there can get it right… Next time!
