Track By Tracks: Alukta - Merok (2025)
Matampu’: is a death mantra
Laissez entrer ceux qui pleurent: talks about accompanying the persons in mourning in the ancient ways and customs
Des teintes d’Ă©ternitĂ©: is a very personal song dedicated to a beloved one who has to leave, and the fact that our links will persist in the afterlife
Kombengi: it means 'the night" and is about the awful ,terrifying sensation of dying that occurs every night during my sleep
Aluk To Dolo: means 'the way of the ancients" and relates some death rituals of the Toraja people, like how they bury their dead and buffalo sacrifices
Exuvia: is about leaving our flesh envelope to be reborn
The album is a lot inspired by the Toraja culture (people of Sulawesi, Indonesia) in which death rituals are very particular; the artworks represent a buffalo sacrifice, which the Torajas practice to help the dead reach the afterlife as vehicles and food.
