Interviews: Rattle Bones

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock 'N' Roll band Rattle Bones from the USA. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out just like that?

Rattle Bones was chosen for a few reasons. Finding a proper name for a band can be a bit of a chore. However, once the songs began to give off an energy that felt a little more sinister than intended, a name was required that had a similar vibe. Rattle Bones, to me, is a bit of a sonic voodoo style name. Also, when done correctly, a live rock show should simply "rattle your bones".

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Rock and rock 'n' roll music allows its performers an artistic freedom second to no other genre. We've all loved rock since we were kids, and we throw every style we can think of into the sonic mix that is Rattle Bones.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I had never met Tom before we started playing music together, and neither had Eric. I grew up next to Eric, so we've known each other for a long time.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Currently, mine are Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Rolling Stones, and Tom Waits. Eric favors the Wildhearts, Iron Maiden, and AC/DC. Tom goes for the Who, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The inspirations for songwriting are endless. Life experience, film, art, discussions with friends, world events, mind-altering substances, 220, 221...whatever it takes.

6. Where was your last gig?

Rattle Bones’ most recent gig was on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Spain, UK, everywhere & anywhere

8. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I have never experienced stage fright. Stepping on stage can be a nerve-racking experience, but it's never devolved into a negative experience. A tip that I could share would be simply to smile and realize that this isn't heart surgery, it's only rock ‘n’ roll. And have a sip or two of tequila.

9. What bands have inspired you the most?

I find inspiration from those who never hit the big time, yet continue to record, travel, and exist in a world that isn't always wonderful to the struggling artist. Look up Pat Todd & the Rank Outsiders; that fella & his band are a prime example of inspiration.

10. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Money.

11. What do you think of your fans?

I think that they have fantastic taste in music.

12. What do you think of our site?

I dig it. You are helping to keep the flame burning, thank you.

13. Something to add?

Get our debut record "Silver Bullets" this Fall, it'll rattle your bones!
